Mobile Dental Hygiene Care

I find it difficult to talk about myself. I don’t take a lot of selfies or showcase my business achievements. It’s not that I am have not worked hard or made personal sacrifices, I do! My body aches from hauling my equipment most days. I ensure my client’s are extremely comfortable, this may involve providing care along their bedside or wheelchair.  My state of the art portable dental equipment is heavy! Sixty -two pounds in fact. I lift this into the back of my vehicle, sometimes I have to carry this upstairs upon arrival to my patient’s home. It doesn’t matter because I absolutely love what I do!  My business is not limited to providing house calls and helping older adults.

In grade six, I made the decision to become a Dental Hygienist when ” I grew-up”. This is more than just a job to me, it’s my life. I am constantly learning and I strive to become the best I can be, so I can make a difference in the lives of others.  I was one of the first Dental Hygienists in Ontario to open up an independent dental hygiene practice. Many people are still unaware I EVEN EXIST, my greatest success has been word of mouth. Access to dental care has been the number one priority and focus in my small business. With that said, I have reduced fees greatly and on average my clients typically pay about $99.00 for a dental visit.  I care greatly for others and dedicate 15 hours a month volunteering as an executive and board member in our community. I have a special gift caring for people who have exceptional needs, seniors, people who have anxiety, dementia or limited mobility.  Everyone should have the right to access basic dental hygiene, feel comfortable and treated with dignity and respect.

I offer such an unique office space here at my home clinic, that people leave their dental phobia at the door. I am incredibly thankful to welcome people into my own home.  Providing an incredibly personalized appointment that is never rushed! It doesn’t matter how long you have been a client at the clinic, you will learn something new at each visit. We set goals together to improve your oral health!

It’s exceptionally tough working mobile hygiene at times but I keep pushing forward despite all the challenges I face. Helping others, matters to me!

The impact of poor oral health and limited access to regular professional dental hygiene care negatively impacts quality of life in our most vulnerable citizens. When gum infection occurs it can increase the risk of secondary infections and illness.

It’s hard to believe I will be celebrating my 11th business anniversary in April.

Thank-you for supporting my business and helping me improve access to dental care across Muskoka.
